At 19 years old at the time, she debuted Here, her debut song. It became a smash hit and was praised by the public and from critics. The single peaked at 19th among both Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the smash one of the best Songs of 2015. That same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks which peaked on the Billboard charts. It also topped Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. It was unique in that many people related to the interview she did with Rap-Up about her struggle in learning to love and embrace herself. Cara is well-known for her messages about emotional health, kindness and self-love within her songs. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her struggles with insomnia and mental illness. According to an Reuters Interview, her album is described as tumultuous yet perfected. The therapy she received helped her to grow and urges her fans to seek treatment if they need it. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. At the age of 10 older, her parents bought her a guitar. This was the basis of her musical passion. In the age of 13 she began covering music she liked on YouTube in order to show viewers that she had talent and was able to make the decision to pursue an opportunity as a musician. The cover she did, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her famous. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and write her own songs.
